WHAT IS THE POINT?
The point of acupuncture – pun fully intended – is to stimulate specific areas of the body (called acu-points) to promote healing, relieve pain, and support overall wellness.
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, acupuncture helps balance the flow of “Qi” (vital energy) along pathways known as meridians. When Qi (chee) is blocked or out of balance, illness or discomfort may result. Inserting thin needles at specific points helps to restore that balance.
It is used for conditions like chronic pain, headaches, stress, and even nausea.
In short: the point of acupuncture is to help the body heal itself, either by rebalancing energy or activating natural biological responses.
Acupuncture is used for a wide range of conditions, especially those involving pain, stress, and chronic symptoms. Here are some of the most common uses:
✅ Pain Management, Chronic back pain, Neck pain, Osteoarthritis (especially knee pain), Migraines and tension headaches, Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, Menstrual cramps
✅ Mental and Emotional Health, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, Stress reduction
✅ Digestive Disorders, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Nausea and vomiting (especially from chemotherapy or pregnancy), Acid reflux
✅ Neurological Issues, Post-stroke recovery, Peripheral neuropathy, Trigeminal neuralgia
✅ Other Uses, Allergies, Infertility (used alongside IVF), Smoking cessation, Weight loss support, Fatigue and chronic fatigue syndrome
While acupuncture isn’t a cure-all, many people find it helpful as part of a broader treatment plan.
